Dr. Ameer Abou Adela is an optometrist with 9 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Optics & Optometry from the American University of Science & Technology (AUST), an MBA from Sagesse University, and is currently pursuing a PhD at Kwazulu-Natal University (UKZN).
He has proven clinical expertise being a former Chief Optometrist at the Lebanese American University Medical Center (LAUMC) and currently an Ophthalmic Photographer at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD).
He is the Visionary Founder & President of Vision Care Association (VCA) and Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH) in Lebanon.
Moving beyond, he serves as the Eastern Mediterranean Council of Optometry (EMCO) Chair of the Public Health Committee and Media & Public Relation Committee Chair. He is also a member of the Steering Committee and Mentor in the Optometry Program of Advocacy & Leadership (OPAL), a collaborative initiative between the World Council of Optometry (WCO) and Indiana University.
Recognized with WCO Young Leader Award (2023) in memory of Dr. Paul Berman and received the Karen Sparrow Scholarship from the Peek Vision Foundation (2024), he is now WCO’s Board of Directors Geographic Representative for the Eastern Mediterranean Region for the years 2024 and 2025.
